Peer Pressure from Coaches
Sport coaching is often intense, even at the highschool levels, your coaches normally pressure you to the best you can. They are very verbal and usally always yelling at you, if your a sports coach, try to keep the yelling and screaming down along with the pressuring of the kids, their already doing the best to their abilities but encourage them at the same time. Many of the college coaches pushes them because they want the best out of them. Well at the college level I would hope they try ever day. But Coaches are constantly pressuring the players on diffrent sporting events to succeed, and sometimes that has a good effect on the players othertimes it has a bad effect. The good effect, is they get encouragement from theier coaching and that way they know their doing good. The bad thing about Pressure is telling the player they need to pick it up or else hes benched or hes done or what ever, and that but trendmenous amout of pressure on the kids to succeed when they already tried. From the professional standpoint, the players get bonus's if they do something great, which is pressuring them somewhat, some of them don't even try if they are doing terriable. My overall view is don't ever pressure your players unless your doing it in a positive way.

I also agree that coaches should stay positive. I think more people like this coaching style more than a negative one. Great blog this i a somewhat overlooked topic.
ReplyDeleteI can definitely agree with this because it happens to me. I do not like it when coaches pressure you into other sports...Corbin
